Local authorities spend £100K hiring celebs ranging from Stavros to Spongebob Squarepants!

Cash strapped-councils in the West Midlands handed over nearly £100, 000 for models from Spongebob iPhone 5s case Squarepants to Stavros Flatley to appear at award ceremony and events.

Birmingham City Authorities paid out £62, 000 in 2010/11, but that figure plunged to £2, 700 in the first in search of months of 2014/15.
